Ten years ago - back to work - teaching English to Korean brats. 2nd May 2003. I taught English at several academies in Korea over the years - children of all ages, and adults. This is an elementary school class. They are the most fun, but also the noisiest. I used to take a mandolin or guitar along and teach them songs from ABC Play School. Ten years ago - central bearded dragon in a Korean pet shop. 28th April 2003. Unfortunately, there is not much concern for animal welfare in Korea, and a lot of the pets I saw in shops, and even in people’s possession, were in poor condition. Often animals are openly treated with cruelty. So it was good to see this healthy bearded dragon in an Ansan pet shop. He belonged to the shop owner and was not for sale. A less comfortable fate and, I’m afraid, a short life awaits most of the reptiles, mammals and other pets sold through Korean outlets. All the Ten years ago posts.

Ten years ago - welcome back dinner in Korea.

Ten years ago - a Korean concert in City Hall.

Brisbane, 12th April 2003.

Back in Australia after a year in Korea, I attended a Korean concert at the Brisbane City Hall. I left enthused to return to Korea and set about doing so.

Ten years ago - a water dragon. It’s been quite a while since I made a “ten years ago” post.  In late 2002 I left Korea and, after a brief visit to Canada, returned to Australia, where I lived for about 3 months before going back to Korea. Ten years ago - a water dragon.

It’s been quite a while since I made a “ten years ago” post. 

In late 2002 I left Korea and, after a brief visit to Canada, returned to Australia, where I lived for about 3 months before going back to Korea. It was an unhappy time and I took few photos of interest.

By March however I was planning my return to Korea, and things began to look up.
