10 years ago. A concert of gugak - Korean traditional music.
At the National Centre for Korean Traditional Performing Arts (국립국악원).
Seoul, 11th May, 2002.
Many instruments… The long board zithers on the left are kayageums, behind them are various sizes of flute, from the small sogeum to the long daegeum. There is a haegeum (rather like the Chinese erhu). In the centre are two big jong-ak ajaengs (bowed with a stick), and the fretted zithers off to the right are geomungos. At the back on the right are piris - small double reed bamboo oboes. Only one drum is being used, the drummer is sitting idle at present.
